Everyone’s heard of Amnesty International. It’s a huge international non-government organization which campaigns for the protection of human rights all over the world. Every now and then it will pop up in the news, condemning some government’s poor treatment of women or prisoners (e.g. David Hicks!), over-the-top terrorism laws, and so on. It all seems a very worthwhile cause, but many people think that to get involved would take up a lot of effort and time (which many uni students don’t have much of anyway).

NOT TRUE! The Amnesty International club at UWA is here to help students get involved in AI campaigns as much - or as little - as they want to. Have a look through the campaigns and activities on this website, and what AI at UWA will be up to in 2007.

If you would like to get involved to further the cause, and meet up with like minded people in a friendly environment on campus, send us an email to join for free!

Every contribution will make a difference.
