A Message from the past State Director,
      Craig Mellican...

Praise God for the foundations laid in 1996 that will provide the springboard for what God wants to do amongst the students on the tertiary campuses of WA in 1997. I strongly believe that this year will see Christians on campus make a significant difference in the lives of thier friends, classmates and to campus life in general.
The second half of 1996 saw two key events occur:

      • The start of SFC at Curtin Uni, where there is now a committed core of students who are wanting to see God use them to bring many to Christ, and who are willing to make that vision a reality.
      • The Students Aflame '96 Camp with Wayne Alcorn - National Director of Youth Alive. The camp was a tremendous success with many having a new vision and heart for the non-Christians on their campuses birthed in them over the course of the week.
God has placed many Christian young people on campus "for such a time as this". There is a real desire to see God make a change on our campuses. The more time that I spend on our campuses, the more I am convinced that the only hope for them is a genuine outpouring of the Holy Spirit of God.
My firm belief is that God has raised (and is raising) a generation of radical Christian young people who are going to see what happens as they grow in thier love for Him and then share that love with those around about them.

This is an extract from the SFC WA Newsletter, Febuary 1997.
